  • Important Announcement

    I am leaving xanga.
I know. It's sad. But really; I feel limited. This is hard for me because, well; I like things to be simple. I have a blog, I'm done. But I need a more superior blog. I don't know that the Google Blogger method is superior, but there are some features I like better. Xanga feels confining, with blogspot I feel more free, open - like anyone can see it and anyone can comment. I know there will be some sad people. I know there will be some happy people. Either way I can't help feeling I've isolated some. Alas. Such is life.

All my dear Xanga buddies are welcome to reguarlarly come and check out my new site:

    www.LetsSeeTheWorld.blogspot.com

Just save it as a favorite or come back here to get the link. I love you and will not forget about the times I've shared with xanga. Thank you.

    The end...

  • SUCCESS!

Well, first let me say a little something about Harry Potter. Just to show you how life changes from the LAST time the book came out! My book did not show up after 2PM and I didn't even know it because the fantastic deliverer did not knock on the door when they dropped it off. So I'm writing thank you notes, Jeff's at the computer. I'm going to finish up the one I'm working on and go distract him from the what looks to me like boring as watching paint dry programing he's working on. First I ask him if he checked the mail when he was out. He gets up, opens the door, then closes it. I wonder why he didn't go get the mail. Whatever. He walks by me several times. I don't look up. Finally he chucks a big package on the table. Oh, it came! Crazy crazy. And I didn't even read it right then. I got distracted.

But the big success was our first official dinner guest (not counting Mom and Dad moving us in and eating with us on the floor/couch!) We had Jeff's friend over for dinner. Super nice guy he met doing a jr. high ministry. I made a chicken recipe I'd made before and I must say - it was one of the very rare times a recipe actually turned out really good. I served the dinner, then sat down, tasted my first bite nervously, and breathed a sigh of relief - it actually tasted really good! Shawn stayed and talked with us until almost 10! (Such a change having someone besides us!) It was a very enjoyable evening.

  • Well I thought I'd try something new - a bright, cheery, summery theme which reminds me of the beautiful day it is outside! We'll see. I'm still on the verge of chucking xanga. Still deciding. (And if anyone says "oh! You should get Facebook!" So help me!!!)

  • So tomorrow Harry Potter - the final book! - comes out and of course I am super excited (anyone else?!)
It will also be interesting to see how my role as wife and hostess (yes, we are having a friend of Jeff's over for dinner Saturday night!) will play out when I will be constantly wanting to dive into the next chapter and find out what the heck is going on! It'll be an interesting weekend. I have a feeling Jeff will be like the little boy who has a thousand nice toys to play with, but finds it more fun to pick on his sister and terrorize hers. I anticipate quite a few attempted distractions!

In other news; I have 2 interviews today, 1 on Monday, and a 2nd interview on Wednesday. We'll see! If anyone is looking for a job might I recommend - find yourself a personnel placement company! Not a temp agency, but a company which other companies hire to find people for their needed positions (meaning the placement people do free searching and networking for you!) That's how I've gotten 3 of my interviews. The first one starts in 35 minutes. Gotta go!

  • The wedding went really well - Tobi was so beautiful! I would have been so excited for her no matter what, but I felt my happiness that she is married was GREATLY multiplied since I know how wonderful it is!
It was a thoroughly exhausting weekend and we have recovered by going to bed between 8:30-9:30 every night. Jeff is still not feeling great and I am warding off something myself, though not sure what. Icky.

Yesterday was our 1 month anniversary - awww! I made a nice dinner and by the time we got done with dishes, didn't feel like dessert, and crashed - yeah, it was an 8:30 night. The head was hating me big time.

BUT the big news is - the nieces are coming home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next Tuesday the 24th they'll be flying into Chicago - all 4 of them with all the correct paperwork, visas, and precious little passports (the girls' passport pictures seen below). What a huge blessing and a great God!!!
